DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT FOR AUTISM
We offer fully NICE-guidelines compliant diagnostic assessments for adults who suspect they may be autistic.
The assessments are conducted in two parts, and you will first meet with a clinical psychologist to complete the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) and subsequently by a consultant psychiatrist to complete a clinical interview.
The cost of the full assessment plus report is £1000.
Frequently asked questions:
Do you have experience of diagnosing women?
We have many years’ experience of diagnosing women and we find that the ADI-R is a very useful
tool for identifying autistic traits in women.

2. How soon can you book me in?
This usually varies and depends on other clinic pressures, please contact us to ask about current waiting times.
3. Do I have to bring someone to the assessment?
We recommend that you bring someone who knows you well to the assessment where possible.
This can be a parent, sibling, other relative or carer, partner, or friend.
Nevertheless, we acknowledge that not everyone has someone they feel comfortable asking to join
for the assessment and it is usually possible to complete the assessment regardless.

4. How can I prepare for the assessment?
The assessment will consist of questions about your early development and childhood, as well as your current preferences and traits. As such, it can be helpful to prepare for the assessment by reviewing any records you may have from childhood, such as baby books, school reports, old photographs, or talk to relatives about what they can recall about you from your childhood. This is not essential so do not worry if you do not have anything to review.
